G'day all,

I am a new member with great enthusiasm but limited skills. I came across your site while searching for information on how to correctly rig an 18th century British naval cannon. I have recently purchased a model from anModel.jpg.dd20fe98198fa3579d07413ccce70485.jpgRopes.jpg.29a30f42b1c8cbd204e43f3cf36ca6b1.jpg elderly gentleman, who told me the model was made in Spain 50 years ago. The cannon barrel is 22cm, nearly 9 inches, in length. It is a lovely model but the rigging ropes are a shamble. I am wishing to restore it to its former glory, but in this I am in need of some expert guidance. I would like all possible detail on how to rig the blocks and tackle used to work the cannon.

One photo is a general view of the model and the other is of the current rat's nest of one set of ropes.

Here is a comment that I recently saw which may help out:

You can find some good quality rope here (as well as new blocks, assuming that the scale doesn't get too large):

Good luck!
