I have a couple of questions regarding the placement of dummy cannons.  My kit has the vertical wood pieces that the dummy cannon are attached to.  We are supposed to drill a hole in the wood piece to fit the end of the cannon.  I am guessing I would need some sort of "gummy" glue that has give to connect the cannon to the wood?  What is the best type of glue to use for this?  The cannons are made of brass.

Also, any suggestions for how to brace and center the cannon at the gunport while the glue is drying?

Thanks,

Don

Yes, you'll need to drill a hole of the proper in try for "dead center" when the wood piece is installed.  Easiest way I know of is make a blank that fits the port from the outside... locate the center and drill a hole.  Use that to "aim" the drill with the blank behind it in the proper place in the hull.

For glue... I'd used epoxy.   If the hole is "snug", no support needed.
