HMS Beagle by boerscht - OcCre - 1:60

Recommended Posts

After finishing my OcCre Polaris I wanted to go more advanced and chose the Beagle for my next model. I really like the look and also the historical background of Charles Darwin.

There she is:

Kiel is perfectly straight:

doing the skelleton

applied the deck before planking. I can fix it with some nails this way.

cabin walls added, thats it for the start:

Nice start. Those clips look good for keeping the main hull form parts square.

Yes works perfect with them

Long time no see, but had a little bit progress on the Beagle the last weeks:

Started with the lifeboats besides planking the deck:

IMG_4318.thumb.jpeg.72c7c13f2dfcae265f6e530a77dab163.jpeg

planked the deck with 6 cm long pieces, not single stripes:

added the brass doors and windows:

and already started with planking the first layer of the hull:

Looks like you are making good progress on the Occre Beagle.

I see you have built the Occre Polaris and the Bounty's boat. What is your impression of Occre's kits you have built?

quality is good but the Models are not perfectly historical correct. Instrucions are clear and material is good. Good beginner models.

Hi, I missed your start a little, but I will join from now on your build.

I noticed that occre did some changes lately. It seems that your keel is made of presswood instead of the plywood I received in the kit I purchased a year ago. Quick question:

Are your blocks made of boxwood or are they plastic? Also, do you still have a sheet of walnut pieces?

Good luck with the rest,

Patrick B

A lot of work went down last weeks.

Painted the hull.

Installed the rudder and rear decorations.

Steering wheel is in place and a lot more small details on the hull.
