Hi David - I have not built this model ship so I can only comment on my experience for what it's worth.  I think that on a POB model I would bevel the bulkheads after installation.  Otherwise how would you know how each bulkhead meets the next?  If you do it before then surely its just a guess?

Hello David,

I have an ongoing POB scratch building project of the af Chapman English cutter based on af Chapman's plan.

There I first cut the bulkheads without any bevel and placed then on their individual position according to plan with one face exactly meeting the line. From the 0 bulkhead the thickness of each bulkhead points forward to the bow resp. backwards to the stem. It is important to colour the true edge of each bulkhead and keep it untouched while sanding down to smooth the hull.

Greetings

Joachim

Built the POB - link to album is below.  My preference is bevel after the frame is built up.  Use a batten (long plank) when filing the bevel to check your work. A file can span several bulkheads, gives good control.

Good luck with it.
