Hello:
I don't know if this post would fit here.
I need a little help, in the retirement home, two Atesania Latina boats appeared in the "back of a locker" that one of the retirees tried to make, the Harvey and the Pen Duick. My dear Admiral told the widow that I "make boats" and they put the problem to me. As it seems the man had no patience or desire to read, he did the planking any way, made the masts and hatches for the Harvey and there he was done. The Harvey is finished (maintaining what its first builder made) since it was my second model and I still have the plans and instructions. Of the Pen Duick, there is almost nothing left, I have the instructions and the photo book and a horrible hull. Consulting the fabulous posts on the forum and photos of the real boat I think I will be able to finish it (after unplanking, sanding etc,) but I am not at all clear about the layout of the rigging on the deck and masts.

Is it possible for someone to send me a photo of the model's plan or deck?
There are no problems with the scale, I can get the actual size from the description on the material sheet.

Thanks in advance.

Regards, Belco

Hello.

You can find the instructions at artesania latinas webpage. Tried to copy the link here, but it didn’t work.

Hi Gaffrig

I have already checked the AL page for instructions on older models, but they have the same information that I have on paper and there are none of the sail, mast or rigging plans.
With the instructions and photos I can finish the hull and other elements, I understand the rigging on the masts but I don't see where they end on the deck.

Hello.

I found this on youtube, haven't looked through all, but maybe you can find what you need there?

I think the video is of the new kit but to be honest if it shows how to do the rigging then that would be the best way to find out what is required - the plans for the older kit don't really give a great deal of guidance. I have the plans for the old kit so I will see if I can get any photos for you.

Thank you very much J.Palmer 1970 and Gaffrig

I think the videos will be useful, they show the construction of the masts and the rigging with measurements included.
From what I have seen the new model is 90% of the old one with a "botch" deck instead of deck plaking it is deck painting😒
I will watch them step by step and take notes.
If I don't get it I will ask for help again.

Thanks and best regards.

Many thanks jpalmer1970.

Gaffrg AL's assembly videos are the only instructions they provide to the buyer, the videos show the dimensions and with 2 huge paper images, more than 1 meter long, you have to get it assembled.
I literally think you have to do a frame to frame to get it.
They will be helpful along with jpalmer's notes.

Belco
