I have only been able to find thread down to 0.3mm and I'm working on a Leon-in-a-bottle model at 1:300 which requires some 0.1mm tan thread for running rigging.  Does anyone know of a source for thread this fine?  I've attached a picture that shows the peak halyards as 0.3mm black and you can see that it is way to heavy.  The hull is about 4" long.

Thanks in advance.

Doug

You could try fly tying thread. It comes in many colors and thicknesses.

On the workbench: The bomb vessel Carcass 1758. Nelson sailed on her in 1773 as a midshipman during England's first Polar expedition.

Completed scratch build: The 36 gun frigate "L'Unite" 1797. Nelson briefly commanded in 1801.

Completed scratch build: The armed brig "Badger" 1777. Nelson's first command

Completed kits: Mamoli "Alert", Caldercraft "Sherbourne"

Fly-tying line should cover what you require. I have been using it with diameters down to 0.05mm. I am in the UK so my sources are not relevant, but you will find plenty of US suppliers.
