Hi guys, I've an old Revell 1/72 Flower class corvette kit that I'm builing as HMCS Pictou I chose this ship because I've never seen it modelled before (probably because the paint scheme is one of the more "boring" ones) and I really like the ship in a simple paint scheme without the dazzle camoflage. I think the dazzle schemes hide the ships lines and in my opinion the Flower class has quite elegant looking lines. Here is a photo of the ship. I asked google AI to colorise the photo and it created the color one. AI suggested the dark hull color is Royal navy fleet grey RN 507A whilst the lighter color would be RN light grey 507C or wstern approaches white. Anyone know what colors this should be? I think the color picture is probably fairly accurete but I still would be interested in suggestions. Thanks

Observation - the below the waterline colour on the ship should be BLACK not red.

That was some feedback I got from the crew of HMCS Sackville as I was working on my model of her (and the St Thomas model I did as well.)

You are probably correct. I've seen both red and black quoted for the antifoul. But Ibelieve most were black. That said I'm probably going to paint below the waterline a dark red because I think it will look better with the dark grey rather than grey and black whcih will be too similar. Although I'll check this first with some test pieces. I don't mind some artistic license for asthestic reasons on my models.
