It was very spring-like in Idaho this weekend so I was doing yard work and took the flyrod out for the first time this year as well. I am about 2/3's of the way done with the first planking of the hull and nearly done planking the deck. I am going to try and get my log built this week. Cheers. Unfortunately, I have the kit with only 2 plan sheets and perhaps a page and a half of instructions. I was wondering if you or anyone knew of a way to get what I understand to be the updated plans and instructions. I don't know if it is appropriate and I mean no offense, but if it were possible to purchase a copy I would be happy to do so. Otherwise, I am very glad to havediscovered this site for myself as I get back into this wonderful hobby. My last build was the ModelExpo Fair American which I completed in 2001, but lost in the recent economic collapse. Long story. In any event, I will follow to the best of my ability the superlative work you are doing. Thank you for the wonderful pictures. It took a couple of weeks but they sent me some more 2nd plank material, no charge. The instructions dont give a clear picture of the joinery. So far I am unsatisfied with what I am getting. Been a few hours on the build this last few weeks. apart from waiting for some 7mm eye hooks from Ebay, for what ever reason I have er... missed placed a few. I had a fun with the side fencing, I think it came out not to bad, have a little bit more cleaning it up once the glue has had several days to go off. Quote Rich. Something I just learned in the Rigging Forums, the chain plates want to follow the same line/angle as the shrouds rather than perpendicular to the channels. Dont know if it is too late for you to change, just a thought. I have not seen anything in the instructions that indicate what the two additional hole in the chain plates are for, have you?
