That is a very beautiful model. The well executed sails and crew members especially add to the overall effect.

I really like your use of the contrasting hardwoods and the use of crew members to help show the viewers the size of the ship.  I noticed that there are oar ports, but no oars.  Did the plans indicate at all where those were stored?

Hi.  Thanks for your comments.   The oar ports were indicated on the plans but the actual storage of the oars were not.  Since I did not want to guess I did not show them anywhere.  I would assume they would be stowed on deck somewhere but that would probably clutter the deck.

Great work!  I always worry about adding in crew figures.  These look nice and work well.

Thanks for sharing.

I have seen some examples of the sweeps being stowed outboard along the poop on a rack to either side. I don’t know how common this practice was though.

That's a good point about storage of oars on the outside along the poop deck altho I've never seen a period painting of such an arrangement.  It would seem to make sense as the deck would be cluttered.  I've seen some models with the oars thru the oar ports but I always thought it made the ship a bit odd looking for display and made the footprint of the model a lot wider.
