HMS Snake by Mike_H - Caldercraft - 1:64

These are the pictures of my 2nd completed model, and first ship.  I started building in October 2020 and finished in November 2022. Been quite a challenge, but I enjoyed it enormously.

The pics were taken on my ancient Panasonic DMC-LX100 on a tripod using three Ikea LED desk lamps for illumination.  I used the tightest aperture available (f16), and autoexposure taken off a relatively tight sample point.  Most of the whole-ship images were boosted by 2 stops (eV).  The detailed shots were boosted by 2/3rd stop (0.66 eV).  There was very little post-processing.  The resolution depends (unbeknownst to me) on whether I took the images from the SD card (good) or via WiFi (bad).  But for web use both methods seem OK.

A very nice looking model Mike, can't believe it is only your second model, well done! :imNotWorthy:

Thanks for your kind words on the early images.  That gave me the confidence to put up 30 images in total (of about 100!).

As @AJohnson said, very well done for only your second model. I have built a couple of the Caldercraft kits and they do offer an excellent model making experience - as your photos show. Your photo work is also quite well done; the expertise is quite evident and a pleasure to view.

Cheers & Congratulations!
