How do y'all get text between photo's? I like the filler block. Hope it works. Thanks to following Nirvana's log, I installed the elusive great beam. Cutting the bulkheads (stantions?) is how I cut myself. I switched to a saw I have. Finest blade I've seen. I could only draw the saw toward me, not push it back away.

If I understand it correctly, I found one piece with the rudder and see where that goes. It had to be cut in half. Then there's the great beam that's .09X.2" and the shorter one next to that so that my sailors have something to trip over. I just don't see the pre-cut parts for the great beam. I can fabricate to within .02". It looks like it'd be about 1/64" off.

Holding bulkheads while drying

I'm familiar. I had one. That's why I'm looking some more. It's not the highest quality. -
I'm printing that up so the old man can read that.

Isn't there a jig to help with the installation of bulkheads?

What's up with the abandoned ship? You're the captain, were you last off the ship?

Great! I love this old man. After 71 years, he just got 3 out of 7 medals he earned. He's still owed 4 battle stars. I was the first person he show and I had the honor of pinning them on him.

Can we log that here?

When I went to pay it was $140. Said $165 My friend said it's the exact same ship. He's 91. I hope he lives long enough for me to finish it.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
