  1. Not too far off. Dunno why the picture shows the dark splashes. I'll spray her down with a satin finish to dull it a bit. I don't want it flat though.
  2. So I got my hose, before I sterted painting I decided to give it a good cleaning. Now I can't get the beast back together, but my neighbor lent me his. Let's see what the color looks like on the monitor now.
  3. Can you send me an Amazon link to something that'll work for me? I'm willing to beg from the warden. I found the color I want, but there's only one oz. There's another that looks so close I can't see a difference when painting. I'm going to mix the 2 to get 2 oz's. Some have Admirals, some are told what to think. Just kidding. My 92 year old WWII vet has been married for 72 years and calls his wife the warden. This woman is MEAN!!!!!
  4. @Torstein, I think this should answer your question. Otherwise, thoughts on the color? Wow. When you load the picture you get a thumbnail. After you submit you see what the phone saw. Zoomed way in. On MY monitor, the color on the left closest resembles the color. Guess we'll have to wait for the air gun hose to see what it really looks like.
  5. I was thinking of the future. I build an occasional plastic car too, but mostly it was cheap. I also didn't realize how little an oz is. Last time I bought an oz, it filled a zip lock.
  6. Torstein, I'd guess it depends on the paint and the brush combined, but I highly doubt it. My advice would be to tell her you love her 3 times a day and hug her at least once. 2 dinners out over 2 weeks, then apply for funds. At least that's what I'll try next. Definitely want new paints. Welcome aboard. You'll find I'm not much into the NRG side. I'm going to paint this the colors I want.
  7. Not my store. The nearest halfway decent hobby shop it 45 minutes away. Seemed cheap at the time. The one y'all were talking about were a lot of bucks.
  8. How thick can you get? The Avatars. Took me a uh, minutes. Had to order a new hose for my Badger. Can't find the old. Did a major garage cleaning project and now wish I had been a little more careful watching the neighborhood kids.
  9. So I wound up getting a package called airbrush colors from u.s.airsupply on Amazon. Acrylic. $60 got me 24 colors of ready to airbrush 1 oz colors, a mixing bottle and a color wheel. Thinner and a retardant. What's the paint thinner, distilled water? LOL. Happy so far, but haven't used it yet. Looking forward to painting the hull with trepidation.
  10. Spent the last few days searching for my compressor. I have a badger 150. Finally found it, but no sign of the air hose. Come on! Takes me long enough to build these things, Hose. $12.95. Shipping. $29.95
  11. 110 degrees, 13% humidity. You mean 15-20 seconds. Most of the year you have to wait until 2 am to see 60. You're weather's pretty similar to ours isn't it? What's your RH like this time of year. Or the summer.
  12. I don't know if 60% RH happens when it's raining here. This time next month it'll be 13% RH. We're at 150 feet above sea level here. I'm going to need help from my best friend in school, Edward Special to retard drying enough. Wait; degrees, or humidity? Degrees, no sweat, humidity, not gonna happen.
  13. I know I know what you mean it would not look too bad. However she's supposed to have a very smooth body. Given the color I plan to paint it I think it needs to be smooth. I say body because this phone doesn't understand Hall Hall Hall phuket
  14. Thanks Thanks Mike I'll definitely do that. I found a can of spray paint primer. As suspected it showed up a whole lot of flaws where are we be needing filler. And that ladies and gentlemen coma is the result of using technology for voice recognition.H*** even my grammars better than this
  15. Ready to prime the hull to see how much I need to fix. I have some model-expo primer. Think it can be thinned to work with an air brush?
  16. That's a damn nice ship. Seems very manly. How will you display it?
  17. Clean and beautiful! The sails are amazing. The deck looks like each planks had its own attention. How does it feel when you decide to call a build complete? No more you can do for better or for worse.
  18. Apparently it's supposed to set on top and in fact extend beyond. Apparently it's a known phenomena but I managed to get it WAY outta whack. Docs solution is simple and elegant. forgot the page number, sorry.
  19. Sheesh. I thought I was going to have to make my own. Brilliant! Question. I see a piece like this for the stem as well, but I don't see anything to go in-between. Am I to make those?
