Good evening Frank, Personally, yes to all. When you have time please check this model out on the web, it's used by amateur's and pros alike. Please keep the Wasa "lessons" coming. Friendly, Roger

Hi Frank, sorry for the delay (I seem to work way too much). Regarding a lathe I picked the Rikon model 70-100 with a Nova Midi chuck. It runs very smooth at all speeds and is equipped with an indexing wheel (handy when you need to mill flats on your work) all disclaimers implied. I have recently seen advertised a "drill press lathe conversion" available from Woodstock International (#D4088) @ $30.36 US no idea if it works at our scale or even at all. However you have accomplished your great work I seen no reason for change - keep doing what your doing the way you are doing it. Friendly, Roger

Michael, all the accolades are well deserved and again you amaze with your skill and eye to detail. Roger

Frank, great shop. The combination of air filtration and vacuum shows forethought to personal safety and comfort. Question, where does the lathe reside? Beautiful work Frank. Roger

Mark, Although I would love to see the missing pick's what you have taken the time to share is greatly appreciated. friendly, Roger

Mark, An absolute beautiful work of art. I thank you for sharing your lessons and techniques, they will be very useful to me and others when attempting the difficulties of a Wasa build. Roger

Hi, I hope you computer learned folks can help me resolve a issue opening jpg files on this site. I am an avid follower of all your incredible Wasa builds, occasionally a string of jpg pictures will appear only as a small box with an 'X' therein. I 'mouse' over the box and can see a title description of the content but that's as far as I can get. What must I do to open the picture file? I really enjoy following each of your Wasa builds and I am grateful for the narratives so kindly provided as they are part of my learning process for my future attempt at a Wasa build. Thank you, Roger

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
