  1. Gun ports are mostly done. Some adjustments on a few still needed, brindle ports still need to go in and 2 spar deck ports at the bow.
  2. Time to work on my least favorite part of the ship. The gun ports. I have most of them rough cut out. I will not do the spar deck gun ports until all the others are finished. Experience has taught me that if I cut them out the wales will break off constantly as I hold on to it to shape the lower deck ports. This is the Pennsylvania.
  3. I have included the bulkhead drawings of the Pennsylvania in 1/72 scale and placed one for the Constitution next to it to give you a size comparison. The bulkheads on the Penny are so big I had to make two sides to get them on a 8x11 sheet of paper. Also working on the masts.
  4. Ship name is on, the rudder is on, the rest of the boats are aboard, and the belfry is done and on. I see there are some rudder hinges somewhat out of alignment I need to fix.
  5. Further progress on the United States. Quarter davits are on and the ship's wheel in mounted along with the binnacles. Every line except those for the boats suspended from davits is now rigged!! Rope coils will go on as I finish the boats. Here is one with all the ribs in.
  6. While the ship's boats outer hull priming is drying, I went ahead and started putting on the anchors, making the stern quarter boat davits and the anchor fish davits for the United States.
  7. Except for rigging the anchors and stowing the ship's boats on their davits, all the running rigging I will be doing is done on the United States. Here I have finished the braces, and the fore and main yard clue and sheet lines. The ship's boats are next.
  8. Rigging the Mizzen yards on the United States. First photo shows a "before" view of unbelayed lines.
