  1. It was actually. Getting the spacing of the spokes is/was painstaking.
  2. Work on the stern galleries for the United States are all but done. A Shield Eagle and some stars to carve yet.
  3. Here I have posted photos of the hull of the United States, (1/72 scale). One side is perhaps 90% done with a few imperfections needing to be fixed. The other side shows it with a thin coat of wood filler. You can compare the sides to see the difference. The hull below the water line must be as smooth as I can make it. The reason is the copper adhesive backed tape I use for the plating is extremely thin and the plank seems would show otherwise. You would not see the seems through the copper on the real ship. I have included photos of the tape.
  4. Some slow progress on the planking. In particular the form shaping the stern below the stern gallery.
  5. I have no idea except in a general sense. I started rigging on 11/20/2023 and finished 1/11/2024. So, 52 days. Average 3 hours a day. Guesstimate around 150 hours?
  6. About 3/4 of the running rigging on the New York is done. I am making the belfry and the braces blocks will go on soon.
  7. I got this far on the Mizzen yards and gaff running rigging on the New York before I ran out of cord. I ordered more and it should be here in a week or so. In the mean time I had time to work on the United States Framing.
