  1. Thanks Paulv1958 I will keep an eye on that area when I get to it. The lamps are made with dressmaker pins. Saw them being used by DonLa's post
  2. Just thought I would show the display cabinet I made to display my projects. In the top left corner is the model of the Sybiac made in Vietnam and this was the ship I migrated on with my family when I was 5 years old. In the middle small bay is my first model I made called the Port Jackson and then below is my second construction, this is a Botter boat I brought back from Holland. Top right hand corner is the Souvereign of the Seas by Agostini and will be worked after I finish the Mississippi. Below this my Endeavour which I completed last month. Hope you find this of interest.I find this stuff very relaxing work.
  3. Today I took some time to build the railing behind the main stairs.Must say it was a bit fidelly but finally managed to get it done.I also finished of the wheel details.
  4. Well finally the stairs are done.It has taken me some time to finish these and I still am not satisfied the way they have turned out ,however I have learned that the more you try to correct things the worse they come out so this my final go.
  5. How do I list current builds and finished builds into my profile

  6. Started working on the stairs.Big mistake I made was to build two in the same direction.Need to keep checking twice before I cut I suppose never the less it was quicker the second time around.I find this part is so far the most challenging. I must thank John46 for his most informative method in setting this stair build up.challenging
  7. Thanks for that PaulV. Yeah I think maybe I should have stuck to the original plan and put a thin strip around the reveals of the windows and then squeeze the window in. I am not changing this now and will put the shutters on any way.
  8. I have followed LADon's lead and put framing around the supplied cast windows.:this was done as the cast windows did not fit in the cut outs supplied by Artensia.
  9. I decided that as I used the cotton thread for the caulking on the lower deck I need to continue. This is more difficult doing the thread around the herring bone pattern but I think it is working out.
  10. I have now completed this project and this my last log see you with the next model King of Mississippi. Thank you all for your help and some amazing posts I have followed on this journey.
  11. Hi Larry, All I used was water base black model paint very watered down to a very weak colour and just used a brush in a wash motion along the walls. I suggest you try it out before doing it on the boat. Snoepert
  12. I have done some extra things and using shizkabaab sticks for the handrails and fixing them to the wall with twisted wire. The washed walls have come up better than my expectations. I have now stuck down the two parts to the deck and thanks for the warning on the holes not matching
  13. The walls to the boiler and engine rooms have had a black wash to show dirt that was created from all the smoke created in this area
  14. This model is beginning to get me more interested as I go. Thanks to Jaun Schmitz for his videos on you tube. He has already given me extra ideas i.e. The hand rails. Snoepert
  15. Can anyone tell me whereI can get people in period dress and horses to go onto the K of M. Thanks
