  1. Hello Captains! A while ago I bought a Pegasus kit, Victory Models. Well I had other stuff to do, so I havnt really looked into the box very much. Today though I did. I guess the kit is supposed to come with some kind of instructions? There are about 12 wonderful sheets of plans, but NO instructions at all. Is this really the way it should be? Hope some one else with this kit can fill in here... Cheers!
  2. Grizzly had many interesting toys, ehh TOOLS BUT I guess they are all 110 V... Here we use 220-240V... Cheers!
  3. Thanks grsjax I think rather I meant that I will get a lathe.. I have to look around what options there are though. AND also examine my wallet Cheers!
  4. Made up my mind.. I will get a Proxxon Cheers!
  5. Hi I also have this with the Pontos upgrade. It shore looks nice! This is an interesting ship to build I think She shure had a great impact on shipbuilding to come. Well done this far and good luck! Cheers!
  6. Hello! I was thinking of getting the Proxxon DB 250. Started wondering though if it isnt a bit too small? The centre distance is 250 mm. Isnt that a bit too short for many yards and masts? I might be wrong though, because I havnt studied my drawings yet, as I stumbled over this thread just now. Cheers!
  7. Thanks for all kind help and info! I ended up with the Pegasus though. Found her at a nice price in Italy The kit looks absolutely GORGEOUS. I will keep the Surprise in mind though A VERY nice looking ship imo. A favourite. Cheers!
  8. Building this has been a dream I have had since I was a kid.. So...I guess I will pull up a chair and follow Well done this far! She could for sure have needed some more frames. Strange. Cheers!
  9. Remember: Heat has been used for hundreds of years to bend wood for ship building purposes Cheers!
  10. Thanks for the advice Grant. I really think I might get those books. I found a few on Ebay at a rather nice price. How is winter down under? I guess you never see any snow? I could send some Cheers!
  11. I have seen those RATHER expensive books from Seawatch. They look wonderful for sure. I'll have to consider them I guess.. I have thoroughly read the logs in the kits area here on the Swan class builds. Amazing all of them The best resource ever I guess. I'll have to check the scratch builds to of course. I always forget to look into the dark side of this place Kind of a strange religion as it is Cheers, Pontus
  12. This kit can be turned into a truly amazing ship Just take your time! There are other people here building it right now. They have build logs truly worth looking in too! Yes I think you ought to forget those sails. You can make much nicer ones yourself But that is something far away in the future Good luck!
  13. I finally found another of my favorites at a very good price The HMS Pegasus from Victory Models. She is on her way now She will be laying around in her wonderful box for a while though. I'll have a glance at her from time to time I guess. Longing for her My Syren has to be finished (and even started) first. I really love the Swan class! Such gorgeous ladies! Any suggestion on books to read on her and her likes in that class of ships? Cheers!
  14. Thanks a lot! As I get it the kit would be.. not top notch maybe, but overall rather nice. Would for sure not be built right away Something for the future to look at from time to time. - After all, one must have a little stash Just a few kits Maybe three.. Or 15 Cheers!
