Spencer I will try to explain what you will need for ship modeling and I'm not a expert in this field but I just will pass you my knowledge.

If you are building from a kit you will not need any of the tool that you listed.. you will need some hand tools in general.

If you are building from scratch then...

Router is a tool that carpenters will need, and for a modeller you can use a rotary tool like dremel or proxxon. This tool you can use for drum sanding, making profiles and even as a table saw if you mounted on a table with a little saw.

Band saw is a great saw for re sawing a thicker board and for making curves (like cutting  a bulkheads).

And a Thickness sander is a drum sander with a adjustable table.

Yes Dan I will have to came up with a locking mechanism for the back support of the legs, you can see that in the front they are supported by the front board. This is not final drawing  it will have a lot of changes.

This is a portable bench that I design on Google Sketch up. I want to build it in the near future because I don't own a workshop and I'm working on a balcony or inside according to the weather.

I'm planing to build it from 2 by 4 cm  and 12 by 1,5 cm boards or any cheaper material.

The whole bench is portable as You can see on the pictures, is closes by a piano hinge and can be mounted on a wall with a french cleat and a pull up legs, or can stand on a table top without the legs.

Any suggestions, comments or questions are welcome.

And there are the dimensions on the pictures in mm.

I have a cheap spiral pin vise, and after a 20 holes, the part that you will have to push down to drill just got wider and now is just doesn't work. So if you are buying cheaper pin vise don't choose spiral, they made from a cheaper material off course. Just my two cents..

Nice build Alex... I will be around and wait for more pictures.. I think that the kit is nice too, and is pretty near to me, so maybe will be a third Bracera in the future after yours and Elmir's   

Pett just catching up with your build and you have the best looking hull ever, PLEASE DON'T USE  PAINT  :mellow:

I think that band saw  is better for your money because it will do lot a work for you. I think it will do the job that table saw will do and the scroll saw combine. And off course  you can't do re sawing with a different  machine.
