    Gang, I got Model Shipway's Pride of Baltimore II kit to build as a first wooden ship kit recently, and, scanning the kit and instructions, the first thing that jumped out at me is that the center keel is no longer (as shown in the instructions) two pieces. Which makes me wonder... what else have they changed that they don't reflect in the (obviously not updated) plans or instructions? Anyone else here bought/built the kit recently? thanks, Doug Fair Haven, Vermont

    Popeye, Might I suggest an alternative to photo etch, one that I am pursuing for my build of USS President, which is HO scale windows intended for model railroad work. An example would be those produced by a company like Tichy: https://www.tichytraingroup.com/Shop/tabid/91/c/ho_framed-windows/Default.aspx ... a search on Walthers' website (www.walthers.com) reveals other choices as well. This is the one I am going to try to use on President, as Chappell's drawing shows 12-pane windows: http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/300-5278. I can cut them away from their frames, and insert them in the Revell kit openings. The gallery windows with their angles will be much more challenging... cheers, Frank
