It isn't obligatory to grind by means of the drum-type grinding machin, it is possible to use a surface gage of Proxxon DH 40 or the similar machine.

This is a good idea that has been around for a long time. I recall reading Clay Feldman's work on his Armed Virginia Sloop back in the early 90s. He used this idea to make his mast and spars from square stock. He used a hand plane and a slightly deeper groove.

Hi, Keith, thanks for the comment! Yes, it is possible to use spacer blocks are wedge shaped to the angle of the yards taper. But in this case for conicity creation I simply a little squeezed one edge of plates more strongly, for creation of small conicity of it it is enough.
