This is my setup.
The board on top is fastened with T-nuts. It allows me to screw the part down or to screw a clamp board anywhere I want instead of just the T-slots. Also if I’m drilling a series of holes or making a slot all the way through I don’t have to worry about damaging the cross slide.
The other picture shows the mounting to the Dremel stand. The holes in the Proxxon do not line up with the stand base.

Good setup, here only for a table is better not to use wood.

Thanks for a wish, David! All of us once were beginners, over time it passes

Ahoy Hopeful
I see on Blue Ensign's log he uses what looks like the Proxxon vise
Pic is from Blues log
Simple and reliable vice.

Garwood,
You are surely the MacGyver of ship modelers! You probably won't get the reference but it is a complement.
Hi, Greg, thanks for the comment!

Castings of trunks are processed on the technology described here http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/454-24-pdr-bronze-gun-le-fleuron-1729-by-garward-m-124/
On a photo trunks before processing are shown. -

The drawing of a 24-pound bronze gun of Le Fleuron on the scale of 1:24 (it is made on the basis of the drawing on the scale of 1:48 of the monograph Le Fleuron of Gerard Delacroix). With production of it and several more drawings in M 1:24 I was helped by my colleague of Igor Kapinos, whose models are also presented on MSW 2.0 http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/gallery/album/208-swedish-privateer/ - a gold medal on the Cup of Universities (St. Petersburg, 2011).
