Wow, reading through builds like this I'm not sure whether to be inspired or just give up! Great work.

As I understand it the Cazador Xebec, or Jabeque, was a Spanish ship of around the 18th century, although Occre have a misleading comment about Xebecs being in the second siege of Gibraltar as its only historical detail. As such what lengths would the deck planks be and what kind of butt system would be adopted? Also, am I correct in thinking there would be no joggling?

Interested to see how it goes. I am at the start of building the Occre Cazador. Your decks look good. That's the next step for me following their instructions. Do they always suggest planking the deck before hull? Is this unusual?

Hi Daniel! Just found this thread having ordered the Maria HF31 from you today. Looking forward to building it. Looks a great kit!

Primer
in Painting, finishing and weathering products and techniques

I'm about to start painting my Midwest Chesapeake Flattie and was wondering about priming it first. I have some light grey Tamiya surface primer but it says for plastic and metal on the can. Can anyone tell me if it would be suitable? Or if not what I should use.
