Thanks a lot for your comments and likes!
I will remove the flag pole. It is there Just temporarily, not glued.

My First attempts with rope coils. I need to play a bit with the size and shape but I think this could work..... What do you think?

It has been a while since last post. I finaly spare some time and get back to AVOS! Only few details need to be added. One of them was fastening of yawl. The equipment (oars, yards etc.) is not finished yet. Will play with that later.

Emperor Alexander 1 officially approved the flag of the RA company on September 28 (October 10), 1806.
Here is a copy of the order with a sample flag from 1806

As we know, the  tender "Avos" was built before, in the summer of that year.
It is possible that at first time (several months or half a year) the tender was flagged Russian Navy flag
But most tine  the  tender "Avos" had the flag of the RAC
The flag of the Russian-American company (RAC) is part of the great common history of Russia and the United States, a unique history of the development of Alaska!!!
It was a period of discovering new lands, conquering new horizons, and a time of great friendship between Russia and the United States.

That's why we decided to put this flag in the box.

I was cleaning up the deck and securing the position of the spreadsail yard. I thought it would be Quick and easy task but I had hard times to secure the correct position of the yard. Also attaching ropes to the belaying pins is pretty difficult as the deck is quite full.

Greetings in the new year friends!

I did not touch AVOS over the Xmas eve. My 3 childern kept me busy enough but had a great time with family!

So the only update would be....... New replacement sail has arrived from MK (thanks a lot), I have managed to remove the Bolt rope so sail is ready to be rigged.

Happy New Year to ALL of you and let's finish AVOS!!!

You could furl the sail or clew it. It doesn't have to be spread out. I think I would. Just an idea...
For the rest, I absolutely admire your work. Very inspiring (and jealousmaking). Thumbs up!

So its Christmas time and I have closed down the shipyard. Everybody can now welcome their grandsons and all their beloved ones. This is what I will  be doing myself. But still.... I have let a small part of the shipyard open... maybe -when everybody sleeps- I get a chance to work occasionally on block staining and the  fore mast shrouds... who knows, maybe I catch Santa coming down through the chimney and have together a  glass of Monkey  Shoulder single malt scotch!

so...  merry christmas and a happy new year to all...

@Dutchman first of all thaks a lot!

Second, for me this was not an option anymore! I have/had a picture before my eyes how it should look like and it is with spread sails. I will be adding ti it the finish that it is full wind. And furl the top sail will not work. Building this kit was so much fun so far and the treat what MK gave me was exceptional! Best kit!!

Excited about the sail I have sat down and finished one side of ratlines. It turned out quite well I would say. The second side next!

I have reached the stage that I do not like so there is not much to show.
Before I can fix the position of the spreadsail yard I need to prepare 2 things.
    1. I need to do the top half of ratlines until I still can lower the yard. It will be lot more complicated with the yard fixed in position. (I hate doing ratlines!)
    2. I need to prepare topsail so I could secure all the rigging in the center of the deck by the mast (it would be also very dificult to get there once lower ratlines and "outside running rigging" is in place). And I'm also not a fan of this task

So the progress is very slow now. I have installed lower and upper Sheer battens and prepared few ratlines, that is all for now.

    @Mirabell61thanks a lot Nils!

Although I have studied the rigging plans of this kit for a long time, it still suprises me how detailed it is! And in 1/72 scale!

So fore sail is prepared, I have attached all the ropes and blocks......

And start testing on the ship

    Foresail halyard

Foresail sheet attached to the horse

    Foresail downhaul and tack

    There is really everything!

Adding some more tackles, hooks and blocks.

And works on the sails. I have removed the boltrope and did some ironing.

Now its time to attach the boltrope back using my own rope. After 2 and half hour with a needel........ I have the smallest one ready 💣

All the rigging of the main sail is in place so I could tighten it and clean the deck from the rope ends.

And move to the next stage. I have attached all necessary ropes and blocks to the spreadsail yard

And attached it to the jackstay

It brings some volume to the ship!

But first I will have to do all the rigging around centerline (mast and stays) as all the yards rigging is making access very dificult.
