I saw an ad for a Dumas 1949 19ft CHRIS-CRAFT Racing Runabout boat kit in a catalog I get as a woodworker and I decided I want to built it. I came here to research my project. I read the New to Shipbuilding thread to get an idea of the hurdles. I looked through a build thread for the runabout and it mentioned a book called Mahogany in Scale; I bought the book to become familiar with the process.
As a woodworker I’m also trying to determine the smaller tools that I’ll need. I’ve been looking through a Micro Mark catalog trying to decide what tools might be useful. I’d appreciate any recommendations.
I’m in Minnesota, US and I’m looking into my next winter project. I think the boat kit is something I can do (but it will probably take longer than I think).
