  1. So after finishing HMS Diana this will be my next build. I also received HMS Sphinx for Christmas but likely will start in in the fall after this build. Unfortunately there seems to be issues with uploading pictures which others have noted. Tried loading on at the time. No difference from what I did before with Diana.
  2. Forgot to show the three ships line abreast
  3. So finally she is finished ! In Between her sister ships Agamemnon and Snake. Since all 1:64 scale can appreciate their size and how they would have appeared back in the day. So for my next project in the new year: While I await the Amati !:64 Victory and Vanguard's latest frigate in development.
  4. Lower shrouds done, moving along. I find ratline making to be somewhat relaxing
  5. Yards now done and have started the shrouds
  6. Masts done, next the yards. I save the bowsprit for last as it gets in the way of rigging the masts and I always snag it and break something
  7. Finally finished the ship's boats. Will start on the masts tomorrow.
  8. Doing the ship's boats. Long process and not my favorite part.
  9. It has been a few weeks . After taking a vacation time, have finally finished the hull of HMS Diana, sans the hammock cranes and boomkins. These I will do at the end as I am always breaking them when I am doing the rigging.
  10. I made an error and accidentally posted these on Vane's blog. 2 weeks later , finished the main gun deck
  11. I am so sorry to all, especially Vane who has been doing such excellent work. I put the photos in the wrong blog . I am new to blog posting. I deleted my error.
  12. Looks Great. Good planking work. Here is a picture of the stern are of my HMS Surprise, a very similar frigate design. You can see how low it is below the bulwarks. You may be running into the same issue I had with the whale being too wide. There is a discussion on my build on it and if you look at the Diana book you might see a difference from the instructions. I had to cut mine down. Yours looks about 1 row too much. Sorry if giving advice but the comments from others saved my bacon.
  13. Prow now done, soon face the onerous task of assembling all the gun carriages.
  14. Nice work but having recently wrestled with the stern fascia I think it is high in the picture as the windows line more with the bottom of the lower deck gun ports. If you look at the box picture, the upper deck bulwarks end stick up above the top of the stern piece. The side galleries would be to high as well. The instructions are hazy of course. The book picture also has it lower to my eye. It may be just the angle of the side shot. ECK
  15. I think the error turned out ok as when you look at the Diana book, the wale is narrower and lower with more distance between it and the gunports. I have found the pictures on the box and plans do not always correlate well and some things do not fit quite right depending on where you look so I have made a few adaptions to get things to line up especially with the side galleries/
  16. Good to see you back. Had used your build for some references earlier.
  17. Just added the b ling. There is a beam that goes atop the side gallery in the plans but I can't find anywhere where they describe or number them to knwo how to make it. Any suggestions? Still have to add the side figures to the stern
  18. Thank goodness for filler. Always a challenge getting things to fit. Then a bit of paint
  19. Rudder now in. Looks like picture on the cover.
  20. Did some painting and next will be install the rudder tomorrow
  21. Copper always looks nice. Left stern unfinished as I will put in the rudder after doing the lower hull painting. Rudder easier to do now with nothing to damage on upper decks.
