I currently have 2 packages ready for immediate delivery, should have another next week, as usual I'll make the kits as needed. Wood package for the Ketch rigged Sloop Speedwell This wood package will provide all the needed strip wood to plank the model kit from Syren Ship Model Company. You may also wish to use 3/64" or 1/32" thick sheets and cut your spiled and shaped planking from those or mill them all from other thickness sheets if you prefer to bend them and taper them on your own. Contact me to order or for more information. Primarily Yellow Cedar with some Boxwood. $130.00 + shipping Contact me if interested : thewoodmansshed@gmail.com Thanks, Joe

Holly is not difficult to come by. But really good Holly is impossible to find. You know the stuff. Its the stuff you remember being able to buy oh so many years ago. Even the bad stuff around now is super expensive. We have located and secured a decent sized batch of Holly billets of various size from an old supply. Like finding a barn find of an old Mustang Bullet. They are super white and beautifully clear. Only a few tiny knots spaced far apart on a few billets. No blue or green streaks. We have these available for strips and such immediately. Please email me or PM me for a quote on what you need. You wont be disappointed. While supplies last. Joe

Hello everyone, I've been made aware of a possible problem with the link on Syren's web site. It seems some people have no problems but other are having issues. I spoke to Chuck and he said it seemed to be working form his end and I have been able to get to my site from his also. If you are still having issues you can always go direct to www.modelerssawmill.com or email me direct at thewoodmansshed@gmail.com. On a side note I recently had surgery on my hand and am awaiting results on a biopsy. I'm hoping to be back at work by the end of next week. But another surgery is most likely on my radar. Thanks to everyone who has supported my business and I hope to be able to supply my services for the long run. Thanks, JoeV

Just want to thank everyone who has placed an order. I also want to make everyone aware of a shipping delay coming out of North NJ due to the collapse of one of the USPS distribution centers during the storm a few weeks ago. If you have any issues after at least 2 weeks please contact me and I'll make an inquiry at my local P.O. . Thanks for your understanding and continued support. About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
