More progress... Added the remaining deck furniture and the shrouds have started. I'm tying the ratlines by hand. They just look so much better that way. The foremast yards have been done as well but are not shown... Slowly but surely she's coming along...
-
Looking great! I'll be starting one soon, so will be following closely. Planking looks top notch... what's the support/stand you're using?
-
A few more bits done. Bowsprit rigging and a few shrouds on the foremast... Progress is slow but steady...
-
A bit more progress on the Terror... Most of the main deck houses done. Pinrails done. Deadeyes and chains done. Masts coming along... Really enjoying this kit! As always, please post questions, constructive criticism, suggestions etc... R. P.s. apologies for the messy work area!

Will check out the builds you're doing. This is my first wooden ship so trying to keep it straight OOB for the meantime while I find my feet! Having said that, I'm here to learn.

I know what you mean. She's s bit "pot bellied" and at times I thought I had the hull formers in the wrong order! She comes good though!

Thanks for your words or welcome, Keith. I've done a few more plastic ships. I might post some pictures of the Victory build soon. Its the Heller 1:100 kit which is quite popular but somewhat challenging. Currently into the HMS Terror, my first wooden kit and I'm hooked! I going its wood from here on in! (Apart from a 200 scale HMS Rodney which is on my to do list!)

Hi Chaps. This is my first wooden ship model. I have done a few plastic ships, but the wood was calling me, so here goes! I'm pretty far along on the hull now, but any comments, critique, suggestions of questions are well welcome! Will post more pics as the build progresses!

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
