Slawku, mala rada: jak uzywasz translatora to staraj sie wpisywac zdanie po polsku w najbardziej uproszczonej formie, bez skrotow myslowych, zwrotow potocznych, przenosni, metafor itede.
Najlepiej krotkie zwiezle zdania bez przecinkow nawet.
Niemniej jednak, piękna krypa
English: The Polish language is hard to translate using translators so i advise avoiding slang and keeping sentences as simple as possible

KayZee, the DeAgostini kits are normally released weekly in the form of a magazine.
Basically you just go to your newspaper stand and get the next issue (or you can order a subscription, then they send it to your house just as any other newspaper subscription would be).
The "Magazine" contains the booklet itself (16 pages i believe) plus an assortment of pre-cut parts (partwork) - just imagine buying a computer magazine with CD/DVD Cases attacked to it.

Hello Jasseji...
I hope not everyone is walking around Poland with a musket!
Thanks for your kind interest and I will see if I can dig up a scan of the BJ parts listing for you - look for a PM.
EG
No, just me, sometimes with a cannon too
BJ's shipping might be too much for the package value (50$ for the shipping alone, even with ~20$ orders) so i might have to look for an european supplier but thanks anyways
I will have to find some European supplier for the stove.

Hi, thanks for the links.
I was more thinking about lanterns than cabin illumination
The led earring is a superb idea tho

Hello Zyxuz,
any chance for a source on those tritium vials ?
I'd like to incorporate them in my Constitution build

Sorry, I beg your pardon, but I do not undertstand exactly what shall I manage and order . . can you clarify ? Thanks, Jack.
Excuse my English - i meant "Where did you get this kit from" ?
In Poland, the only available kit from DeAgostini was the HMS Victory and it is not available anymore - even through backorder, also, DeAgostini refuses to deliver to countries, where a given kit was not officially published so i am asking where this one is being published at the moment
-
no prob - do you have the part numbers for the camboose and the girders perhaps ?
force9 already wrote that not all parts are listed on BJ's webpage.
I need to check their shipping costs to europe tho - might need to settle with something dfferent
-
i mean if 1-5/8" means 1 and 5 8ths of an inch ? - i know how to do conversions, just not used to the way it's written down
-
Hey Jack, how did you manage to order this and from where ?

June 7
Maybe not directly naval history, but i believe this was an important event:
1494 – Spain and Portugal sign the Treaty of Tordesillas which divides the New World between the two countries.
Other news:
1906 – The ship which started the events which pulled the US into WWI, RMS Lusitania is launched at the John Brown Shipyard
1942 – World War II: The Battle of Midway ends.

Hey Force9, i am following your build-log and cant await the moment when my kit arrives so i can start too
I wanted to ask you, is there a chance to scan the parts list from your Bluejacket manual ?
I wanted to include the stove and the girders too and maybe some other parts as well.
Best wishes from Poland

This Article about Carronades includes a table with lenght comparison between Long Guns and Carronades divided by Shot size:

Let me jump in from a land-artillery perspective.
For artillery in the field, the lenght from breech to muzzle and the caliber was a given factor when ordering a gun and then the rest of the measurements where done according to this.
So in your case, the figure A would be "Ordered Caliber" x "Number of ordered lenght Calibers"
Usually, there were pre-given guidelines as to what amount of calibers are for what purpose.
For instance an 16pdr Ordinary Culverin (Long Gun) had a bore diameter (caliber) of 51⁄2 in (140 mm) and a lenght of 12 ft; (3.6 m) which is 25 calibres lenght.
The rule was that Culverins (Long Range Siege Guns) were made in 25-40 calibers lenght, Kartouwe (Field Guns) 14-27 calibers.
The problem is that this was quite fluent and lenghts were arbitrary and not scientifically tested.

Firts and foremost Hello and thank you for reviving this forum (i was browsing it once and almost had a heart attack when it went down).
I have been thinking around a Tall Ship Model for some time now and i think i am now ripe for it.
A few words about me:
I am 32 years old, from Poland and i love the years 1600-1850 in different aspects (artillery mostly as i am an reenactor).
I dont have much experience in modelling, but i was painting and kitbashing figures for Table-Top Wargames and i did actulally build a 2-person wooden sailboat with all rigging etc. which is still afloat somewhere
So, now i want to do it, wife even said she's help out.
Build: 1/96 Revell Plastic USS Constitution
Although i havent started the build yet, i am already keen to get some insights and comments, as the box is due to arrive after the weekend
So my Plan is for a refitted/kitbashed Revel 1/96 Connie model.
I also own the paper plans from the C.Mamoli Wood Model and the Mamoli Cross-Section plans (courtesy of a friendly Modeller) plus the "Anatomy of the Ship" book so some ideas/changes will be taken from there
Breakdown of changes planned:
- pumps as per Force9's idea
- same for gratings and on-deck furniture
- changes in armament: 30x 24pdr long guns, 14-16x 18pdr long guns, 6-8X 32pdr Carronades (Modified 1804-1807 armament)
- Boats lowered with crew in them (idea is for a scene where the crew picks up supplies from some island)
- Water base
- Furled sails installed on the yards (no idea how to do them yet though)
- No Name
- Extended Crew
One idea was to make a wooden planking + perhaps wooden frame as per the Mamoli plans (ideally discaring the plastic hull completely) but i will think about it when the box arrives and i see how much work i need to put into the hull.
Any insights, welcome and i will post pics when the box arrives.
One question about the Bluejacket Store - do they list the scales in their catalog or the given item sizes ? I dont know about US scale transliteration too much.
