Just some historic precision to complete this masterpiece :
The "brass stars" along the hull are "fleurs de lys" (Lily flower) the emblem of the French monarchy. In fact, it does not represent a flower but the head of the lances of the francs warriors.
Concerning the name, in French we say simply " la réale " without specifying " de France " for two reasons: the first one is that in the French naval tradition, contrary to the English and American traditions, we indicate simply the name of the ship (l'Ambitieux, le Fleuron, le Soleil Royal ...). The second, is that before the french revolution, we would have said " du Royaume de France" (kingdom of France ), not "de France".
