Since being a new member since July that means alot Ryland because it makes me feel that I am truely accepted into this wonderful community. I have been building model ships for years and always alone without help or encouragement. Wish that I found this forum years ago. It made the build so much more enjoyable with followers and input. By the way Ryland after looking at your profile I have you beat by 8 months with time on this earth. Thanks Again Rick

James we were both worried also but I was more worried about her teenage laziness since she lives with me. To be single at 77 and live with a teenager can be hazardous to your mental health! To you and Phil thanks for the support and accompanying me on the build. Rick

Welcome aboard. With that said put on a life jacket and jump into the build full bore. Many enjoyable hours await you. Tons of help can be had in this forum all you need to do is ask. No question is foolish because we all have experienced the same problems. Good Luck on Victory. Best Rick

Terry I love the hull bottom color and the launch way came out great. Was all the timber for the launch way bought as the $19 kit from Model Expo. You know what I believe the ship looks a hell of a lot better on a launch way than on 2 brass pedestals and gives more detail and attraction to look over the ship build. Best as always to you Rick

Welcome and great looking build. I find that this hobby gives great enjoyment and great pride and self worth. Many of us here are retired and sometimes in our later years we need that. Best RVB (Rick)

Granddaughter and I had a great day assembling and installing the torpedo and the torpedo head is armed and will be ready tomorrow to take on all Pirates when we install the firing and release lanyard. After my granddaughter gets her ice cream reward we are retiring for the night. Hopefully after finishing the lanyards and no Pirate headaches we should reach our final destination by evening. Until tomorrow wish us luck Good Night Best Rick

After battling the snowstorm yesterday and working on the torpedo and worrying about the Pirates I decided to take the night off and relax and exercise. Being without exercise equipment I built a set of weights and headed to the cockpit to relax. Until tomorrow and torpedo assembly I wish all my log followers Good Luck and Good Night. Best Rick

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
