    Lazy day at sea today slept in but needed to make my craft more seaworthy. Installed crimson deck trim (for beauty)and installed and painted lower main rub rail for boat protection when I haphazardly dock!

    Dropped anchor and time to retire for the day.

    Up early as the sun rises above the horizon and ready to set sail started working on upper rub rails. After many years of docking the rails were in dire need of new paint and a brighter color so let’s get to work.

    Another beautiful day at sea giving me time to work and clean up gunnels.

    Suns up and sails unfurled time to resume my journey. When gluing down the stern deck needed to secure small opening between the deck and the gunnel (thank god for 1-2-3 blocks)

    It may not need sanding and a final coat.

    The Liquitex Basics Acrylic Fluid—-“Ivory Black” gives a nice satin finish. I’ll have to evaluate it in the sun light before I set sail tomorrow. As Always Best Rick

    3rd coat and set aside to dry overnight before final sanding and final ivory black coat.

    First coat Liquitex basic acrylic fluid—ivory black.

    Bare wood exposed and masked with 1/16” vinyl pin stripe tape where rub rail will attach.

    While in port for the day decided to paint my boat. Picket in primer

    The Modeling Paste takes about 1 1/2 hours to dry.

    After shaping the fantail (sprayed with brown primer before sanding)found a low area and needed to refill with Modeling Paste and set up to dry.

    After shaping the Fantail Stern filled interface and fantail with Modeling paste to be shaped when dry.
