Hello Ray, thank you for the consideration, although i can't take all the credit for the jigsaw fitting, as far as I know the later kits have been improved a little bit. In my case i didn't have too much trouble fitting it. Cheers, Mihai

Hi all, I decided to go with the hull planking first and after start the deck planking. With the first layer I kept it simple, nothing fancy, only a good support for the second one. I forgot to take some pictures with the first stages , I have only the finished product, first planking sanded down and ready for second layer. Mihai

Hi Alistair, I saw your progress on the Fly and it's a great job so far. Love the deck planking, looks good and clean. For my ship id decided to plank the hull first and after that the deck. Will see how will turn up.... Mihai

Welcome to my new build log the HMS Pegasus. After some very nice builds that i've seen here, I decided to have a go and I hope I will not mess up a very nice ship... With this ship I also changed the manufacturer, from Mamoli to Victory Models and it looks like I made a good choice. I opened the box and the stuff inside looks like good quality, hope that will also be the feeling after i'll start building. Hope you will enjoy the build and as always all advice and comments are welcome For the moment a quick look to the items inside the box

Hi Carl, Thank you, with the sails i can't take all the credits, i had a little help with their manufacture... On the matter of the next build i'm not 100% sure what i'll choose. What i'm sure of it's that i will change the manufacturer, probably something from Victory Models - Pegasus or Mercury or Vanguard.... I'll probably make a poll and ask for opinions Cheers, Mihai

Hi Brian, Glad to see you following my log, i wasn't sure whether i should paint the ship or leave the exposed wood and just varnish it, but now i'm pleased with the choice i made. Thank you for your consideration and i hope to see you here again Cheers, Mihai

Thank you John, I'm glad you like the rigging, i also think it came out ok, but because it's not a very complicated one i decided to put the unfurled sails Cheers, Mihai

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
