Hello. My name is Harv Boyer. I have been a modeler for about 40 years. My wife tells friends I am a serious modeler (bless her heart). I build war aircraft, 1/32 . My main reason for being here is to find help locating a particular scale ship model. My friend James Hatch suggested this site to me. My father in-law was aboard the USS Hector for many years. AR7. Heavy repair ship, was in the Vulcan class. I have been searching for one for quite some time now. I have only found one kit, but has not been available for over a year. I would appreciate any info if anyone can help. If I do find one, I would be more than happy to share my build here. TIA, Harv

You may not find a kit but then, I'm not into steel navy.  Are there plans available as it's possible you may have to scratch build it or modify a kit that has similar lines?
