Happy to come aboard. As a youngster I built many plastic models and balsa free flite, control line and RC aircraft. Now that I am retired  and have some time on my hands during our long and cold Canadian winter, I started building wooden model ships. My first build was Amati Endeavour 1:35 Americas cup challenger. It turned out OK but I learned a lot especially about patience. I am now attempting a Sergal HMS Victory kit and can foresee at least a few winters working on this model. The kit is an early edition that I picked up cheap on ebay. The parts that are cut out were done by c&c machine, not laser and the rest are just printed on plywood. Everything is in Italien and the plans are hard to figure out. A real challenge for me.

I am hoping to learn from this site.
