munst3r Posted January 1, 2022 Author Share #2 Posted January 1, 2022 (edited) The ship hull had excessive molding on it, not sure why. Maybe this is normal. I had to sand all this down, 15 min job. I accept that this shoddy work, but I'm not ready to move into precision work. Its my first model, and I want to keep this moving, and not stop for want of proper equipment. I will probably take other shortcuts to complete this model. munst3r Posted January 1, 2022 Author Share #6 Posted January 1, 2022 Added the Bulwark Cap and Rail Cap. Sanded down excess glue, and am priming it again. (Shouldn't have primed it earlier. Rookie mistake). The instructions recommend sanding inside the railcap. I assume to bring both the railing and boat in-sync. After reviewing, I felt this was overkill for a railing inside the boat. munst3r Posted January 3, 2022 Author Share #8 Posted January 3, 2022 Bunch of work completed: Re-primed everything after the railcap went on Drilled required holes. As I don't have a #68 drill bit (0.03") i used my existing 1/16" drill bit. In retrospect, it's too big by about double. So i ordered the 0.03" and will get it today before i complete all drilling. Notes to BlueJacket Company. The instructions are unnecessarily vague and in some cases, missing in the diagram. In may cases I had to look at completed models of the Wendameen to understand where to put the wholes Drilled out the mast holes, as per recommendation frrom Mr.BlueJacket. Finally - completed the longboat to be added to the hanging stands Drilling out holes LongBoat Next steps: Painting the hull. I'm awaiting the arrival of the paints.
