I am a new member and not sure how posting works. The Marie Jeanne is my third model and I am trying to secure planks to bulk head. So far i am using binder clips clips size mini and small with various wood shapes in the binder to secure the plank plus an occasional dressmaker pin. I alos add some glue between boards. I am looking for suggestions on how to secure plansk.

Hello and welcome aboard here at MSW. I would go with Chris for the first layer planking. For the second layer I would use maybe rubber bands around the hull or cord strings. If you don´t have clamps that fit around the hull.

Hi, I have just started this kit, I enjoy that first bit before things go wrong.

Already problems, I do t have a DVD player and need instructions.

So far I have got to part 12, I am resorting to build8ng by part number, but some are missing

Bulkheads  in place, sort of, using ca, I've used a metal ruler to try to get the spine straight!

I can't find any walnut, there are four bundles of wood strip, none are "very flexible"

None are walnut.

I can't find any walnut.

I can't find a rowboat

I can't find a parts list

ARTESENIA LATINA.

I can't even fit 1B, the bow infill

Hi LadyG

Do you have the model number 22170 or 22175?

22175 is the new version with the rowboat, and 22170 doesn't have one, so that may be the model you have.

Here's a link to AL Mary Jeanne (old)  with photos, instructions and parts list downloadable as pdf files low down on the page.  If it's 22175 there is also a link on that page for the model.

Hope this helps!

I don’t believe there are any walnut hull planks as the hull is designed to be painted. You can check my build log, link is in my signature below,  but I think the second planking uses the same wood strips as the first. Been 7 plus years since I built mine so my memory is s bit fuzzy.

Update there is some very nice walnut/mahogany colored super thin veneer wood in the kit for the 2nd planking, also some thin walnut strips for the coaming. The veneer is about 0.5 mm thick.

The instructions are available on AL's website here

EDIT:  I linked the instructions rather than the actual page they are on, so if you click on it it will go straight to the PDF download.
