I'm new to this hobby since I received the wodden model kit "Virginia 1819" model version 22135 as a b-day gift! The problem is that the foremast is missing! I'm having problems with this company as they say EU regs require an ID card or passport for verification -- sounds nutty to me and i'm wary of privacy issues! Have any members had any similar problems with them?? Any suggestions??

thanks

If they are requiring the ID,  I don't know how you can get around that.

However, the foremast provided in the kit would have been a wood dowel that you would refine based on the plans, so it should be fairly easy to aquire one from another source such as Amazon or a hobby shop.

Gregory is right, I usually chunk the dowels from the kits because they are usually warped and go to Hobby Lobby and buy some cheap dowels and make my own.

When I built my AL Sopwith Camel, some of the pieces of the stand were missing.  I filled in the "parts request" from their website and the parts showed up in the mail (to the United States) within a couple weeks.   That was back in 2024.  See post #77 in the log below.

And here is the link to the parts request: https://artesanialatina.net/us/en/p/15-parts-request

Just go to their main web page and scroll down to the bottom to see the link.   That is what I used.  I do now see that the instructions refer to a "national identity card or passport number" but I do not see any field in the form for that and did not have to provide any such thing when I made the request.

thanks for the input.

I'll wait a few weeks after I send the request as I live on Long Island, NY and see. If no satisfaction, I'll try hobby lobby that gregory suggested and stain the dowel to try match the color of the applewood of the mainmast.
