Added the details inside: ladders , barrels and stones in the bottom deck. Now started to work on the cannons

Cannons painted . Start positioning them inside the decks.

Started the mast construction. Platform done and lower mast has been shaped and varnished.

Main mast completed and installed. All blocks in place. Now starting the construction of the yards.

That mast adds a whole new level of difficulty to 'where am I displaying this'  The build is looking great.

1st yard completed . Unfortunately for some reason didn t find enough 6mm wooden stick in the occre kit to work on the second one. I will need to get some from the ship modeling store. In the mean while started with the riggings.

Ratlines in progress….tweezers and lots of patience

Not happy how the ratlines were looking…so cut down everything and started again…what to do…that s part of the ship modeling…mistake ?? If you can , do it again till it looks how you want.

Yards completed. The mode has his own spot. Now I have to put the modeling in pause for the next 3 months due to the job. See you in December…

Back to work on my model. Top mast standing rigging started.

Ratlines completed…treated the sails with the dark tea…now all ready for bending the sails to the yards.

I will get my cross section Trinidad tomorrow and will watch your build closely. 
Did they really use those massive boulders for ballast at that time?

Hi Roland….is a nice kit…you will enjoy building it…for any inquiring along the way I will be happy to share my expirience.

those are the stones included in the kit.

Doing some progress with sails bending , mounting the yards and running riggings. Unfortunately run out of 4mm blocks. Just ordered and waiting for them to arrive.

During this fase I learned a lot about sails and for the next project I will have a different approach. I will sew the bolt rope and the clew patches onto the sails, and I will use a different method for the bending.
