  1. Thank you mtaylor, will try it tomorrow.
  2. Thanks for all inputs:) Hairspray sounds interesting. Should be quite easy to apply and form I think. Do you use it after the sails are installed or before?
  3. Yes, it is probably like you say Jaxboat. The glue is indeed white but feels quite different to PVA. The question is if this is a solution that can work for keeping the form of sails or it will be bad in the long term.
  4. Sorry, I think my description was unclear. I use normal cloth and then dip it in this paste solution as you mention. Then leave it for drying. When applying this non woven wallpaper you just "paint the wall" with this glue and then add the wallpaper directly to the wall. It was this glue I used.
  5. Hello Have anyone used wallpaper glue (non woven paper) for forming sails? Tried it yesterday and it seems to work after a first look. Question is if this can hold for longer time?
  6. Thank you all for the comments, it makes me happy and encourage me to post more photos I didn't want to build a jig to get the mast in right position so I used a laser cross (don't know if this is the right name in English) instead. First used it to line up the drawing to the wall (picture 1). Then used the drawing to get the right angle of the mast to the laser (2). After this so could I use the laser to get the right angle on the mast on the boat (3). And from the front it was only to use it directly (5). I also made a mast ring from a small copper plate. 7. In Sweden we use the woman name Siv to remember this. It is "syra i vatten" (acid in water) :-. If doing it in opposite way you cause a severe reaction. Jörgen
  8. I use casco indoor woodglue. It has Ph 6 and when diluted with water it should be very close to neutral. Think this will be OK. I have now wait to the day after gluing for the trims etc. Much better result:). I'm happy that this work because I didn't liked the appearance of dried CA. Thank you all for the help. Br Jörgen
  9. Hello all I spend every day on looking at all the fantastic models in this forum so I thought it was time to share mine build. It is the first wood model I build but I have built plastic models since I was child (Airplanes and tanks with focus on WWII). I should have done this log long ago but I get messed up in priming, airbrushing, coating etc. Have to redone it a couple of times....... I have added some extra details on the ship to make it more like photos from 1934. I apologise for the bad photos but I am not a expert on photos:) I choose this kit as a learning kit and my goal is to build period ships in the future. Next build will be Sherbourne by caldercraft. Well here are the photos:) Jörgen
  10. Not at this starter kit of Endevour. Was trying to trim and test the force after some minutes...... Thanks for the help.
  11. Thanks Keith How long must I wait until I can trim ends etc? At the moment so doesn't I got any strength without a tiny drop of CA.
  12. Hello all I am rigging my Amati American Cup Endeavour 1934. I have a question about how to dilute the PVA glue for securing knots etc. What ratio of Water/PVA do you use? Shall it be heavily diluted or just make it float? Br Jörgen
