Hola amigo mio.
Even though i have little experience with wooden ships and any kind of modelling art, i'm amazed by the difficult work you've done . The result is unique !! I'll follow your build trying to learn some things from you.
Well done karl.

Thank you. Your build looks great. I have not been able to work on my for a while but hope to be back at the "shipyard" soon. I'm sure I will have a lot of questions then. One questions that I already have is how you tapered the bow before planking. Did you shape it to a vee first then planked it and then squared it off to glue on the final stem piece or did you glue the stem piece on before planking and then notched it to accept the planks? Not sure if I'm describing it clearly but I know the instructions do not cover that.
Hello again d'brat . First i shaped it to a vee then planked and finally glued it. I assume you refer to the bow and stern decks.i hope my answer helps , if i did not understand your question please do not hesitate to ask me again. I will send you 2 or three pics of the process . Dimitris

Top work on that build Dimitrius . That's a very smooth hull and fine paint finish you've got there. Looking forward to see more from you.

Great paint job. The red underbody color is very good. Nice crisp waterline as well.
Russ
Thanks a lot Russ!!! It was a tough job, cause i had to paint it five times to get this result, since i had no previous experience in painting. Luckilly, there is a model site in Greece, from which i had a lot of support and tips on how to do it.
Take care, Dimitris

She is looking really fine - lots of nice details and finishes. I particularly like the painted scroll work around the hawse hole. Very sharp and clean. Looking forward to more photos. Are the booms and gaffs up next?
Bob
Dear Bob, thanks so much for your kind comments! it's been a pleasure working on this beautiful ship. As far as the paint job is concerned, it was a bit of a struggle, since i had to paint it five times to be satisfied by the result!! The booms ang gaffs are up next as you mentioned. Take care, Dimitris

Dimitrius,
Excellent work and so fast. Bluenose (either version) is a great ship to learn on. I too an curious what you plan to build next. Please write a build log, many experienced modelers will offer help and encouragement. Keep up the good work.
Dave B
Dear Dave, thank you for your nice words! I have decided to build Amerigo Vespucci by Mantua, next. Thanks again and take care, Dimitris

Hi Dimitriis71
Congratulations on your fine build the Bluenose 11 via AL. This was my first build many years ago when I was working as a consult in Montreal, PQ. A very enjoyable build I must say, I finished mine under full sail, my Admiral volunteered to sew the sails and did a great job on them I must say. Are you planning to add sails or not ? Bluenose was a great ship to learn on, you have sure shown that you have a lot of skills. I suppose by now that you will be looking at an even harder ship to build, mine was the Cutty Sark again under full sail, thanks again to my Admiral who loves to sew.
Keep up the great work and above all, ENJOY.
Regards Lawrence
Good morning Lawrence, it's always nice to have people helping you with a build . I'm not planning to add sails , because i feel that adding sails hides a big part of the details of the construction. As far as the next project is concerned i'm considering a ship which i really like , Amerigo Vespucci by Mantua.
Thanks for your encouragement and kind reply.
Take care, Dimitris
