I have just come to know of this kit in the last 24 hours or so, and am wandering around the internet trying to learn everything I can about it.

This project is coming along very nicely! 

I am just now looking into a project for the San Ildefonso, or maybe the Montanes. 

Is it just me, or does anyone else notice that the 2 main gun decks are closer together (top to bottom) than on similar British ships of this time period?

Both the San Ildefonso and Montanes seem to have the gunport opening very close together, top to bottom (not side to side).

It's like there is very little room on the lower gun deck for people to stand--moreso than normal! 

Does anyone else notice this?

I don't know of his current whereabouts.

I find the recent Caldercraft claim that Surprise will be released by the end of the year to be comical, and insulting to their customer base.

They have not updated their website in, quite literally, a decade.  I have no idea what's going on with that company, but they don't seem to be interested in developing new kits.

I just visited Caldercraft's website as I have been doing for, oh, about a decade, looking for updated information about their new releases.

The "Latest News" section has literally not been updated in any way in, I believe, a decade or so.

They're apparently still working on HMS Surprise and the mystery 74 gun ship.

The real ships those models are based on were actually made in a much shorter time period.

I find their approach to the website amateurish and highly frustrating.

New kit development in this hobby can be measured by keeping track of where Jupiter is in its orbit around the sun.  It completes a revolution every 12 years.

I have contacted Ages of Sail regarding this issue. They responded, and they said that they will contact me with USD pricing info when product comes in. Oh my -- it is a beautiful ship kit...I'll update this thread when I have their price.

I guess I didn't realize this kit is not quite ready to roll yet.

I like this era of ship and it is a refreshing change from the usual suspects.

Does anyone know the latest on this?

When did the reference to the Revenge become active at Amati's website?

It's there now, but no reference to MSRP....no reference that I can find at Cornwallmodelboats either.

I'd love to know where I can buy it and how much it costs!
