Salute Sjors,
Your gentleness is very appreciated. Thanks for your compliments boosting my morale.

Salute Michael,
Thanks for your kind comments...
Following me as a guide?!... You will be certainly lost!...
In fact, there is not any barrel on the quarter deck through the plans. But I like the barrels in period ships; typical and concerning the past. And the crew have had to be thirsty.
The tap and the bung are my addition.

Salute Augie,
Thanks for those kind words of an artisan of whom I follow the log which inspires me very much
-
Salute John,
It is very pleasant to hear such beautiful words.
Thank for your encouragement as always...

Salute awsjerome,
The height of this pin rail is approximately 2,00 - 2,25 m. (scale 1:40)
I think the crew of the main deck have been choosen between the men at least 2,00 m tall...
They were working, eating, sleeping... only on the main deck,
Or... One man on the shoulder of the another...
In fact I have not any idea.
Maybe the authorities in this forum could answer your question. By now, me, I begin to wait any recourse from Mark (Moderator).
I went to the section scracht build log, to the Model Mariner's Berlin and saw almost the same height... Perhaps it occurs because of the original plans.

Salute John,
The king is really great and lofty...

Hi Mark,
That knowledge you professed increased my faith to the plans. Thank you very much...

Salute Michael,
I think that one of the important factors which give value and beauty to any piece of work is the persistence to achieve the details successfully.
That is your sensibility and manner. Exhausting but the result is happiness and reprieve... The charm is through the details...
I appreciate heavily your approach and style...
And I am honored very much by your kindness and nobility about my handiwork.

Salute Matti,
So if I am understanding you correctly, you asked me why there are not vertical timbers over the planking inside of the bulwark. Unfortunately I am not competent about period ships. I suspected about my work after your post. But I follow the plans. And at the section "scratch build logs in progress" Model Mariner is building Berlin in the same manner, very clear especially in posts no 18 and 19. Then I calmed down. By the way thank you very much for your interest.

Salute B.E.
This cement is very useful and I highly recommend it. It facilitates rigging very much.
You are right. If I have had my mind of today, the blocks would be more correct :-(
-
Salute Hamilton,
Such kind words by someone like yourself who have built 11 ships are highly appreciated and accepted ashamedly...
-
Hello Mark,
thanks very much for such encouragement to a beginner as myself.

Salute harlequin;
If it's not seen as an intervention; even though the painted ships attract more admiration, your choice of leaving her all wooden, seems to me more authentic and natural...
-
Salute Mike,
Another beautiful work in this forum...
Magnific...

Salute John,
The kitchen stacks in black match very good with the pipe over the captain lodge. She looks huge, by meaning of beautiful, of course.
Authentic!...
May the flag be twisted and became stabile with starch?

Salute all of you,
I would be glad to be excused because of my mistake.
In this log I mentioned hornbeem about deck planking but that must be beech wood.
Sorry of my weakness in English language.

Hi Ferit,
Something I apprciate seeing is the rope pulls for the port lids. It seems not many include this detail. I've enjoyed your build since I found it and it's one I always look for for updates.
Regards,
Brian
Thanks very much Brian,
I am glad for your attention to my build and to the small details I try to make...

Ahoy Ferit
The cannons look great
. You set a high mark, I can only hope to do as nice a job on my build.
Can I ask where you found the blocks for the rigging of the guns, and what size you used? Did they come with your kit? My kit was a recent purchase and they are not included. I will need to add them. I would also like to know the line used too if it is not too much to ask.
Ahoy J.Pett, you welcome...
I am happy when someone asks me something and I am able to answer.
Thanks for your kind comment as always...
You are right; the blocks for cannons are optional, the kit does not provide them, unfortunately. I have purchased them from Artesania Latina fittings, boxwood 3 mm. For the quarter deck's cannons which are smaller than the main deck's, I have sanded these blocks of 3mm to diminish down to 2 mm.
The thick rope is 1 mm in diameter, the rope through the blocks 0,5 mm. I have provided the ropes from Amati rigging lines. The kit calculates the ropes cm by cm...

I can see; Mark Twain is on the third floor, sitting on the bench and writing his book..

First of all let me offer more praise for the exceptional work on your Berlin. We must have similar tastes since I am currently working on the WVH and have the Berlin on standby......If I ever get off my duff I'll re-introduce my WVH build log which disappeared with the great crash. I'm sure your version of the Hamburg will be just as or more spectacular than your efforts with the Berlin...Keep the updates coming... I'll need all the help I can get when I begin my version the Berlin.

Salute JP,
Thank a lot for your kind words... I really suspect if I am adequate but will be content if I am able to answer any question about my work.

Salute John,
She is almost finished. From now on, the combination of the wood, the black stacks (metal) and the ropes has flamboyant impression...
