  1. As mentioned in the title. Mary Rose "your Noblest Shippe". Not Mary Rose "a la Anthony" Anthony is helpful, but he is not always followed
  2. The idea is to place four "larger" swivel cannons here. Why swivels? Because on the Anthony drawings the cannons on the back of the fore castels usually point upwards. And it is therefore suspected that these are swivels Why only four, Matches the drawing. "false openings" Make yourself appear stronger than you actually are? Is this setup final? Don't know..can change .
  3. The rear side is ready for painting Painted, some painted parts could be better. But that is for later.. With the general shape seems to be ok. The fore castle is on hold for a while. First I will continue with the gun deck. (And i forgot to drill the holes for the swivel cannons. I see now.... Current status
  4. Welcome back 😉 Nice work from you and your daughter
  5. When I built my SR, long ago. I thought it was supposed to be a bucket with "something" in it. Not really recommended to put this on your model 😉
  6. I do indeed first give the deck a few layers of varnish (danish oil). On the places where something has to be glued later I scratch this layer away. And then glue the object there with normal wood glue.
  7. The keel is 60cm, 24 inch. Length overall shoud become maximum 124cm, about 50 inches. And, Thanks all for likes and comments 👍
  8. Planking the rear of the forecastle. A part of a decorative "drain" was found at the remains of the rear castle. This probably served to drain water from the deck to the sides of the hull. So why wouldn't there be one at the forecastle? This drain was made of a solid oak tree trunk, and on the model it is built up from several layers of cherry and twisted iron wire. The drain is in place and the planks applied. Gluing plank by plank and letting it dry took a while. Planking sanded and further finishing in progress.
  9. Thanks. If you have time. The model will be on display at this event. https://www.modelbouwforum.nl/threads/modelbouwersdag-expo-historische-scheepsmodellen-2025.291459/
  10. Made a second ladder (writes the same in Dutch as in English (so the English language is derived from the Dutch language...😇) And deck number2 is planked, so i started on "the rear" of the forecastle.
  11. Too late for this info. On this small scale it is usually impossible to get the holes in the tracks to fit the teeth of the sprocket. That is why I always removed the teeth that touch the tracks. Works much easier.
  12. Thanks Steven, In the meantime, one ladder is placed and one deck has been planked. Of course, no nice straight planks, but bits and pieces. And nailed...
  13. I always gave them a metallic color first. Then glued them to the model. And then painted them further
