    Holy Panther Robin! That is some amazing painting on your models!! Both the Panzer and the cockpit detail are ultra realistic!

    One incident concerning scale color mismatch occurred when a Navy shipmate of mine entered a large scale (4 ft long) model of a LST in a contest and he was judged low because the hull color did not appear "authentic" when in fact he had used paint from the actual LST ship's paint locker!! True Story!

    I've noticed that some colors seem to look darker as they are scaled down. Has any one else noticed that?

    Mike - Wasn't trying to correct you. Was thinking out loud. During research of Hemingway's boat Pilar (which is also a Wheeler) I had found that tidbit and it came to mind when I read your post. I will be very interested in your build of the Chris Craft Commander. If you are looking for info and pics you can go to the Chris Craft Commander Club sight. Stan

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
