    Then I mounted the legs to the plank that I had already shaped and used brown acrylic paint and equal part water to color wash the base and the leds

    Had a busy week at work but managed to get a little done this weekend. I built some legs for my mount . I used the pieces left over from the center of the bulkheads I made a template then rough cut the pieces using a drill bit and exacto knife. Then clamped them together and started filing and sanding

    Welcome aboard Martin , I am also new to this site , I have only been here a few weeks and find I cant stop looking through all the great build logs and there is so many other cool forums as well , I have used a few already , and have been warmly welcomed in each one . I find I learn something new everyday. I am working on a 18th century lonboat myself hope to have it done in the upcoming week . Start a build log so we can follow along with your nemesis and you will find a ton of help with the problems you might run across. All the best Derek

    The lighting is nice it's actually brighter than I expected it will definitely help the picture below my hand his approx 12 inches away from box

    Received the optivisor today , I was a little worried after reading some of the amazon reviews. Many stated the lenses fall off and unit was heavy . Well after using it for a couple hour today I didn't have any problems with the lenses if anything I thought they locked in rather well and as for weight I used lithium batteries as they are about half the wieght as regular batteries and found it very comfortable and I do like that I can wear my glasses under them

    Thanks Tom i just ordered a magnifying headlamp to see all the small parts to continue on , I had a hard enough time working with the mast band and clamps 🤓

    Ok I'm in need of a head lamp with magnifying lens looked on amazon and there is so many to choose from ,so I figured no better place to get some honest feedback .let me know if you have a particular brand / model you really find comfortable and good lighting and magnifying abilities Thanks

    Greetings everyone Progress this weekend was slow but steady . I got the thwarts in, and the cabin seats made the mast clamp and got them mounted , Got the windlass and two handles made, I left them removable.I also shaped the mast and just got done painting it I will mount it tomorrow and add some hardware

    Hello I started this longboat about a week ago , I am new to building model boats . I can't really rate the kit I got from MODEL SHIPWAYS , as this is the first one I have ever saw but I have not had a problem with anything yet and the instructions seem pretty straightforward there has been a few times I have had to read it over but that's probably cause I'm a newbie. Here are the photos of what I have got accomplished on it so far . I hope to finish hull by the weekend I will cheat and use the printed frieze under the top rail because it's to small and I'm not the best painter but I'm working on it lol will post finished hull over weekend,

    Hello everyone i am new here and just started my first build a week or so ago I am doing a 18th century longboat I got from Model ship ways I wanted something small to see if I truly was going to enjoy it . So far I have found it very relaxing, it takes my mind away from work once I'm home . Once I finish this one I would like to slowly progress to something a little harder and detailed I would love some suggestions. If I can figure it out I will post my progress as I go so I can get some expert feedback and criticism. Thanks
