Then I started to do the second anchor.
P.S. My first anchor disappeared during this process.

Next item is anchor.
It was the first attempt to make an anchor using the PE parts. I cut off the excess metal to get the right size. Then I glued parts and processed the anchor using needle file. And I painted him.

Russ and John, thank you very much for your encouraging words. Both of you build models that inspire me to do better.
Lawrence, Thank you for your good words. As for the wood 99% of the time I work in bass wood, which is what all the white wood is. (Yellowish color is due to lighting.) I do not know woods. The dark wood is that thin mahogany looking wood that comes in kits for second planking. A couple of months ago, at an estate sale of a ship modeler, I bought up all of his wood stock. The lighter brown wood was in that buy, I have no idea what it is.

Hi Denis - thanks. She's coming along rather nicely, I must say. Sadly, time is scarce as our house is in a state of upheaval because the painters are going through the whole house. Hopefully, things will get back to normal soon, so that I can start building again.
Hi Lawrence - Thanks and I have to admit that I also really like those water shots, as well. Shadow is really starting to look nice now. Kinda like all 'grown up' with her new colour scheme .
Cheers

Hi All,
Just a little bit more. There's still a lot of clean-up and the parts are just set in place. Also I need to do the roof and, oh yes, I still need to put a finish on all that bare wood. But here's the pictures for now.

Lawrence, computers are a pain and sometimes I hate them but then I remember no matter how slow they are we wouldn’t have MSW to keep in touch and have that comradery I need to keep going with boat modeling.
Julie, I love the way you think, It’s like me.
Welcome aboard, Gerhard, I’ll try to keep you entertained.
Now here is where I am now. The saw blade came yesterday so I need to mount that and cut wood for the other boat. For this one I’m moving right along. I built the walls for the saloon. They’re not finished yet but placing them in the hull helps clarify the finished boat.

Great job on the hull! Two words come to mind...well, three actually: Sleek. Beautiful Elegant.
I'm gonna enjoy watching you build these little beauties!

Thanks OC.
Major disfunction today... cutting the cradle pieces, the power supply and possibly the tube died on the Deathstar. Definitely the power supply though. HMS Visa is slowly sinking by the bows....

Minor milestone and then on to a major one....
Finished the centerline hatchways. Done... Finito... I still have much to do on this deck still, but that is all going on hold. I'm pulling her off the jig and making a cradle. I gave some serious thought to only using pedestals but my experience with them is "iffy"... so something a bit substantial that will look nice and not detract from her lines is in order.
Meantime, here's the picture and I think I'm ready for either new batteries, a new memory card, or a new camera... something is acting up here.

Thanks for the "likes", the comments, and the discussion.
Things have been running, shall we say, dead dog slow here lately in the shipyard. I'm putting the hours in but seems like nothing gets finished. Probably normal then at this stage.
The center line furniture aft of the main mast is done except for the pantry which is on hold. No point in blocking access at this point. Also the two crew ladderways forward of the main mast are done. The pic shows the capstan but it's only set into place at this point so it doesn't get misplaced or damaged. The crossbeam for the pinrail forward of the main mast has been safely tucked away so it doesn't get damaged. I'm moving forward on the deck to the remaining hatchways. After the planking the rest of the deck and doing the ceiling, I'll install what I have ready and make the pumps (do over!!!) and the fireplaces.
Part of the bog that's slowing things down is taking measurements for the planking and transferring them to the drawings I'm making for the laser.
I do find myself being happier with my output as I think I'm getting better at joinery and even more patient with fitting things than I was before. After a couple of "by your leave, sir" hassles, I found I need to measure 3 times before transferring any measurement to the wood. A bit of confidence here and there goes a long ways.
Here's the pic and as always, comments, critiques, and discussion are welcome.

Thanks for all the "likes" and comments. After getting everything else around the house done and then getting the new mill set up, i'm busily planking the lower deck.
The first six strakes are finally in and I'm happy with them although there's some serious sanding in my future as they aren't all the same thickness... But I've sorted out the planking scheme that I need to lay down. This deck is all 1 foot wide and 4" thick planking. It's actually thicker then the gundeck which is 3" thick but mostly not as wide. I'll fight that battle when I get to the gundeck as there are some varying widths and thicknesses there.
For the lower deck, as near as I can find, the planks are all run pretty much the same width from fore to aft with hook scarfs at the bow and some tapering at the stern. I'm going full width but with the partitions fore and aft, I'm not planking much beyond them... One reason is that the Admirals Plaque is behind the aft partition in the gunroom.
Here's a pic.

Finally back in the shipyard. Only part time at this point but waiting for the last of the "re-decorating" projects that the Admiral ordered to arrive.
I'm planking the lower deck and adding waterways at this point. No pics yet as I'm experimenting with the best way to meet the "French style" of deck planking. Seems they used a combination of tapering, hook scarfs in places, and drop planks. Then there's the mix of plank widths to contend with....but that's different headache at this point. Once I'm done planking (and re-do's) I'll post some pictures.

Mark,
YOU don't have to grow up. It's better you stay the way you are
Ah, jippie SURPRISES ... I love it when you start interesting things. Usually they turn out far better than the first hand you laid at it ...

Very nice beam work Mark and I agree with replacing the one that's too short. It's just a minor redo and will not haunt you later on. Yes, the gap can be covered by the waterway and or planking but you will always know and gnaw at you.
Cheers,

Thanks as always for the likes and comments.
If I stare at something long enough, I'll usually realize what it is... It's my mistake.... the last beam I have is 2-1/2" long. On the drawing it's 3-1/2" long. I think the drawing is looking from waterway to waterway which, if the beam is tapered or faired into the frames properly it would go past the clamp and end up being 3-1/2" long. Not the end of the world... I may just shim out that area when I do the waterways and plank or I'll redo them. I'm leaning towards a rework. I'm having my moments here wrapping my head around some of this.
In my crude sketch... the black beam is how it looks now. The red is how it should have been faired into the frame.]

Thank you very much Carl and Michael,
and all the "likes"...
Carl,
the etched stair sides and the steps are only folded and you`re right, afterwards (after priming and painting) glue into place with a drop of CA
Michael,
right, I agree, although I have highest respect for the skills of those professional builders work in much earlier days
Nils
Here is a little update .......
on the making of the aft handrail portion in place where the railing performs the rounded bend. I tried several times two flat bend the mahagony handrail by wetting and soaking, with and without heat, etc, very frustrating and without success. Then came the idea not to flat-bend over the 1,5 mm wide side, but to flat-bend and laminate 3 single 0,5 mm thick strips with CA and with help of a little jig, Sigh of relief, it worked out well. Only have to mount and carefully sand down to the required flatness
