  1. This is my first wood build I've only built plastic ships before , I have already built the keel and the bulkheads and in the process of planking which is where I started having problems .
  2. Sorry about the clutter folks I will start a build log . I'm rather new to all this , the information on this build is pretty scarce and the instructions are probably for someone with much more experience than me .
  3. Thanks for the quick reply , I was thinking the same thing the first plank is glued to the stringers , if I sand the bulkheads wouldn't that throw everything off even more ? Not really sure how this even happened .
  4. Building the Dumas sub chaser , for some reason the planks aren't contacting the last two bulkheads at the transom . Was told I should of faired the frames but it's only the last two . Any way to fix this without removing the planks ?
  5. Oh the stringers are basswood still kinda new to all this .
  6. I will try the balsa that came with the kit if I have any problems with it I will try and find some basswood . The pic you posted would leave no room for the stuffing box that has to go through the keel .
  7. In case anyone has the same question , I figured it out .
  8. I figured it out guess I just froze .
  9. I have to cut the rear keel section to fit the front perhaps ?
  10. Hi all building the Dumas sub chaser didn't get very far before I ran into a little problem , not sure how the rear center keel and the forward keel section go together ? All it says in the instructions is , cut and shape the necessary ends of each strip shown on the full size drawing where the stuffing box will go .
  11. I've been cheating on the Markgraf with The Sullivan's didn't want to start another build log mainly to practice my weathering . The boss - admiral bought it for me for Valentine's day .
  12. Sadly it's already half built or I would of bought one.
  13. Holy smokes I have the model The Sullivans by Trumpeter same scale but with no PE parts sure it won't hold a candle to yours .
