  2. If interested here is another good model site https://www.oldmodelkits.com/. I've brought a couple model planes from him.
  3. Lancaster PA 6:55PM 95 Degrees feels like 103.
  4. Home Depot or Lowes have a good choice of dowels. Try AC Moore or Michaels if any are near you.
  5. Graduated HS 1954. 3 years US Army. Spent 30 years doing telephone work for a small Telco in PA. Took early retirement in 1992. Worked as an art framer for 10 years after retirement. Worked for a church as a Sexton for 10 years and now am working part time for Hilton Homewood Suites as a maintenance person. Been building models since I was about 10 years old, mostly airplanes (stick and tissue covered type, not plastic). Have been interested in model ship building for the last 15 years or so. Have built 3. They came out so-so. Have Albatross on the shelf to do next. I also love to read and do counted cross stitch, Stan Williams

About the NRG

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
