Tonight I finished the railings. Not overly happy with the result but they are done🙈

I cut of the lock lever for the brake and attached it with a rivet.

Painting skylights with grey primer, permanent marker, Tamiya clear green for the glass and Baltazar gold for the frames. It is washed with dark earth and will now get some oxidation.

Great pictures! Do you have any pictures of the aft lantern as well? I am planning the light system for lanterns and I have no idea what this lantern look like... My plan is to use fiber optic cables fed from leds inside the boat to make changing the led easier in the future...

Today I painted white plastic to make it look like freshly sanded and varnished wood. If it was a success? Not sure😂

I finished and mounted the catheads this evening. Finally I can finish the railings👍🏻

More work on the windlass today. It is still a WIP…All work based on the picture of the windlass below.

Anchor is done and the chain spent the night in varnishing liquid from Ushi’s.

Bollards almost done, just some paint and they will be finished.

The vinegar and rust have bleached the wood, and they have got one layer of varnish.

Shaped them roughly and gav them a brown wash, then some rust diluted in vinegar. The last picture shows the real one and what look I aim for.

Started work on the bollards. They are bolted to the deck and will be set with epoxy when ready. Washers are glued to the under side of the deck.

Some time ago I started on the catheads. It is now time to finish them. The bollards, bow spit (?) and catheads need to be mounted before I fit the fore end of the railings.

I glued the hands on my watchman as well. Some washes and touch-ups here and there and he is done.

Tonight I glued and finished all parts on the hatches and on the deck house.

The kit instructions propose to glue the window panes from the inside. That looks like a doll-house solution to me so I made ledges for the glass on the outside wihch are covered by the brass frames.

Railings all glued, now some varnish and then the long dreaded operation; painting plastic parts to make them look like the wood😫
