    Ian, as a young lad visiting my Grandparents in Bristol and then living there for 20yrs it was a real treat to visit and play on the ship I can vagley remember all the refit they did, I have a framed painting of this great ship and am trawling the net to find plans etc, maybe we could put our heads together and see what we could put together if interested for a build James

    Hello All, thanks for letting me join I'm James from Surrey in the UK, have been modelling the old plastic kits for years, just completed my first wooden model a Artesania Latina Sopworth Camel enjoyed working with the wood immensely and have always wanted to build boats, looking at Bluenose or Bluenose 2 for first model but would welcome any suggestions for a first build, I think my ultimate would be the 1:200 Bismark but have always loved the Victory At the moment i am just reading the posts and build logs before I commit, I hope to enjoy this new venture as much as I can see many of you do

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
